6 days at YumeNagai

It’s been for a while since my last post. Last six dais I’ve been in Yume Nagai. It’s a lovely place situated near by beautiful Nagai Park. This time using photos is strictly limited. For the Privacy and Dignity reasons. So I’ll do my best.

There are three units in the same home. In the first floor is Day centre. Everyday about 7.30 staff is piking up some 40 peoples from their own home to call them to the Day centre to socialise and having fun.

Every customer has their own Medical Record Chart with them. When customers arriving, a day starts with health check: blood pressure, temperature will be checked by nurse. Next step will be to having a bath (3 times a week). Actually this bathing time goes one nearly all day. I was allowed to dray hair and make them look nice:)

Drinks are given on arrival, after bath, between mealtimes, on mealtimes, and every now and then, as outside temperature is permanently 30+. Inside is a little bit better.

Next part was one of my favourite.  Everybody who was able to use their hands, made their pits. One painted a pig round tumble, made from delivery box. Some people made from old newspapers a balls, other were painting those. Even all flowers and vases are hand made :)

 Ready for the game :)

One maple leaf is made by Sensei one by me:)

In the same time Physiotherapist is having the sessions with those customers in need.
Some customers is having their individual exercises, some customers are having foot massage, some of them are sitting on the Foot Spa.

11.25 Every single day is a Morning gymnastics: Radio gymnastic exercises; Rehabilitation exercises; Towel exercises; Dysphagia and oral exercises. One of the stuff is a leader, and all other people, staff included, are participating. It was pure fun, I can tell you:)

Day was full of activities until 15.30 when customers had the Shuttle back home.

Three days from Wednesday to Friday I was in the Group Home unit. It is a supported living. There was like the time did stop already on the floor before.  There were no hurry anywhere anymore.
Thursday was not that hot, only some +24 degrees, so we were able to take some customers out for a walk. On Friday we went together to make some shopping. Nothing much happened there, only every day I helped to prepare the lunch. It was like a course of Japanese gastronomy.  And of course I was allowed to assist with eating.

Tomorrow, on the 3th October, I will go to the third training place, which will be Yume Miyakojima:)

See you again after few or five days! Take care and mind where you go, i am off now:)
